Manhasset, NY – Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Councilman Tom Dwyer announced the appointment of Leslie Gross to serve as North Hempstead’s first Executive Director of the Town of North Hempstead Business and Tourism Development Corporation.  Ms. Gross, whose position was unanimously confirmed at last week’s meeting, will be spearheading efforts to promote economic growth within the Town of North Hempstead.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to help attract new businesses and create more jobs for the Town of North Hempstead,” said Ms. Gross.  “The vast natural resources of the Town, coupled with the Town’s dedication to help foster growth, are a winning combination to attract business and tourism.”

“I am delighted to have Leslie serve as our first Executive Director of the Corporation,” said Supervisor Kaiman.  “Leslie brings with her substantial private-sector experience as well as a long list of accomplishments.”

“The Business and Tourism Development Corporation offers a unique opportunity for the Town to actively reach out to the business community and build a stronger foundation for attracting merchants and tourists,” added Councilman Dwyer.

Prior to being appointed Executive Director, Ms. Gross served as president and co-owner of Hot Stuff Promotions, a Huntington based marketing and advertising firm.  Currently, she serves as an associate trustee for North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System, is a member of the Board of Directors for the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence and is the immediate past president of the Rotary Club of Great Neck.  Ms. Gross graduated with honors from Ohio University and received a Master’s Degree from Northwestern University.
