Town to Host Project Independence Programs on Car and Pedestrian Safety
 
North Hempstead, NY– Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the North Hempstead Town Board announced today that Project Independence, North Hempstead’s innovative “aging-in-place initiative” will be hosting a series of seminars targeting car and pedestrian safety during the month of September.

“The goal of Project Independence is to help seniors in the Town of North Hempstead maintain their independence and remain in their own homes and communities as long as possible,” Supervisor Jon Kaiman said. “One of the program’s key priorities is giving them the support, services and education to help them safely conduct their daily routines whether they are walking.”

September 11 (12:30PM) – Pedestrian Safety Presentation (Great Neck Housing Authority)

September 19 (11:00AM – 12:30PM) – Safety Behind the Wheel (Port Washington Library)

September 19 (4:00PM – 7:00PM) – CarFit (Mary Jane Davies Park)
