North Hempstead Beach Park Gets Two Brand-New Ballfields

North Hempstead, NY–  Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the North Hempstead Town Board announced that a project to install two brand new baseball diamonds at North Hempstead Beach Park was recently completed.

The two ballfields, which have a beautiful view of surrounding Hempstead Harbor, both contain a synthetic turf infield and new sod in the outfield. A high-tech scoreboard will be installed in the near future as well.

While one of the ballfields is completely enclosed by a fence and even features a warning track, the other baseball diamond’s outfield has been left open. This way, the playing surface can be easily reconfigured to accommodate a wide variety of additional sports, such as soccer.

If you are interested in utilizing this space at North Hempstead Beach Park, you must first obtain a permit from the Department of Parks and Recreation.

To find out more information on how or where to apply for such a permit, or if you have any additional questions on the new fields, please dial 311.
