Pink Fire Truck Promotes Breast Cancer Awareness In North Hempstead

North Hempstead, NYHosting the kick-off of a local wellness fair to support the fight against women’s cancers, North Hempstead elected officials last week welcomed representatives of two breast cancer groups to Town Hall to help raise awareness about the disease. During the brief morning reception on the steps of Town Hall, Town officials greeted representatives from the Manhasset Women's Coalition Against Breast Cancer (MWCABC), the Manhasset-Lakeville and Plandome Fire Departments, and a national organization of firefighters known as the "Pink Heals". The Monday Sept. 19 Pink Fire Truck Wellness Fair at the Manhasset-Lakeville Company #1 firehouse at Bayview Avenue featured presentations, demonstrations and information tables. Comprised of firefighters who lend their time to travel the country in pink fire gear, “Pink Heals” volunteers were on hand, with their pink fire truck, to help promote the wellness fair.
