North Hempstead Launches Project Independence/Roslyn

Roslyn, NYProject Independence is growing throughout the Town of North Hempstead and bringing a new location to Roslyn. An open house will be held on Friday, June 24 between 12pm and 3pm at the Sid Jacobson JCC for those interested in learning more about Project Independence.

“We are excited about the opening of our fourth Project Independence location in Roslyn. This initiative allows more of our older residents in our Town to be able to take full advantage of what we can offer them in the comfort of their own homes,” states Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman.

Project Independence is an initiative throughout the Town that allows older residents to remain in the comfort of their own homes as they age, but still have access to everything that they need, whether it be transportation to food shopping, blood pressure screening, and various other services.

Residents are encouraged to call the 311 Call Center for any sort of services and are then put in contact with professionals that are able to assist in any way possible. Project Independence/Roslyn first started its operations in February and is the fourth location in Town.

For more information or if you have any questions, please call the 311 Call Center.
