TAX PAYMENT REMINDER

2010 GENERAL TAXES - FIRST-HALF

DUE BY WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2010

The last day to pay your first-half General tax payment without a penalty is Wednesday, February 10, 2010.  The Office of the Receiver of Taxes will be open from 9:00 am-7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 for your convenience.

Additionally, payments may be made at local collection sites.  Please see the "2010 General Tax Collection Schedule" on our website at www.northhempsteadny.gov for a complete list. 

The US Postal Service must postmark mailed payments on or before the last day to pay without penalty.  By law, office postage meters are not official postmarks (NYSRPTL-Sec 925).  We recommend that taxpayers mailing payments on the last day have their payments hand stamped at the post office to ensure a timely postmark.

First-half payments made February 11-28, 2010 are subject to a 2% penalty.  Please see the back of your tax bill for the complete payment and penalty schedule.

If you have already paid your first-half 2010 General Tax, or your taxes are paid by your mortgage company, please disregard this notice.
