Town Officials Urge Residents to Donate to Local Food Banks

North Hempstead, NY -
Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board are urging residents to donate to food banks during this time of need.

“As Americans begin to self-isolate on a larger scale, residents are emptying store shelves of non-perishables, which in turn is negatively impacting the amount of donations to local food banks,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “For families in need who rely on donations from food pantries and meal programs, we urge you to support your local food banks by donating pasta, jarred sauce, canned tuna fish, soup, cereal, and other non-perishables.”

Town officials are encouraging local food banks to send their information, which will be included on a Town-made flyer that will be available to residents.
