North Hempstead Officials Sworn In at 2020 Inauguration Ceremony
Bosworth, Berman, Zuckerman, Lurvey and Dalimonte Take Oath of Office

North Hempstead, NY -
North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth was sworn in for her fourth term as Supervisor during an inaugural ceremony at Clinton G. Martin Park on January 5. Receiver of Taxes Charles Berman along with Council Members Peter Zuckerman (District 2) and Veronica Lurvey (District 4) were re-elected last November. Mariann Dalimonte was elected for her first term as Council Member of District 6. All officials took their official oath of office.

Supervisor Bosworth was administered the oath of office at the ceremony by New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, and sworn in for her 4th two-year term.

“The past two years have certainly been highlighted by many accomplishments that we can all be proud of,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “But if I had to distill the essence of why the Town has accomplished so much, I’d have to say that it is because of the atmosphere of bi-partisanship and cooperation that exists on our Town Board, in the halls of Town Hall and in all our interactions with our residents. It’s important for everyone to have a seat at the table – where their comments, ideas and actions matter.”

Supervisor Bosworth detailed some of the accomplishments of the past year, which included a new dog park, a mountain bike and hiking trail, advancements in the “Not in Our Town” Anti-Hate initiative and the addition of new advisory committees.

U.S. State Senator Chuck Schumer, U.S. Congressman Thomas Suozzi, New York State Attorney General Letita James, New York State Senator Anna Kaplan, New York State Assembly Member Tony D’Urso, New York State Assembly Member Charles Lavine, Nassau Laura Curran, Nassau County Comptroller Jack Schnirman, Nassau County Legislator Ellen Birnbaum, Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton and Nassau County Legislator Arnold Drucker along with many local officials were in attendance.

Receiver of Taxes Charles Berman was sworn in for his 3rd four-year term, after he was appointed to the position in 2010.

Council Member Zuckerman, who was first appointed to the Town Board in 2014, was sworn in for his second four year-term. Council Member Lurvey, first appointed to the Town Board in 2019, was sworn in for her first four-year term. Council Member Dalimonte will be serving her first four-year term.

The ceremony included the Presentation of Colors by the Westbury High School ROTC, the Pledge of Allegiance led by the North Hempstead Veterans Advisory Committee, and the National Anthem performed by the Nassau County Girl Scouts Choir. Spiritual leaders included Shaikh Magdy Ali from the North Shore Islamic Center who delivered the invocation, Rabbi Howard Stecker who offered a blessing and Bishop Lionel Harvey who gave the benediction.
