Supervisor Bosworth & Council Member Zuckerman Announce Additional Parking Complete at Roslyn Train Station

Town re-stripes free commuter lot adding 59 additional spaces

North Hempstead, NY –Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Council Member Peter Zuckerman are pleased to announce that the Town-owned Long Island Railroad (LIRR) parking lot in Roslyn has added an additional 59 parking spaces since 2016, following the re-striping of the lot. This is the second time in the past year that additional spots have been added to the parking lot.

“The Town has made great strides in relieving congestion in this parking lot by adding a total of 59 spots in the past year through innovative solutions,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “These additional parking spots plus the bike racks we will soon be installing are both a positive step in making commuting more convenient for our residents.”

“It is important that we continue to find creative and cost effective solutions that address the everyday needs of our residents,” said Council Member Zuckerman. “This project is an example of that, and one that myself and Supervisor Bosworth hope will make the daily commute of our residents more accommodating.”

The 59 additional spaces were added to the section north of the station house and the upper level by the entrance ramp, as well as where a median once was, located in the parking row closest to the terminal and station house. The parking lot now has 297 parking spots available to residents, free of charge. Phase II of the project, which will be completed soon, will include the installation of the two bicycle racks and traffic delineators.
