Port Washington Monarch Alliance Hosting Nature Event at Clark

North Hempstead, NY – The Port Washington Monarch Alliance is holding a planting event and a nature walk at Clark Botanic Gardens on Wednesday, August 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Volunteers are welcome to bring home two large swamp milkweed plants and some eggs or caterpillars. The group will be planting on the banks alongside a pond. This is a critical initiative that will improve habitat for wildlife and pond health.

The group will be meeting at the main entrance to Clark Botanic Gardens at 11 a.m. and planting on the banks of the western-most pond on the garden grounds. The nature walk will follow the planting.

For more information please contact the Port Washington Monarch Alliance at 516-509-3294.

Clark Botanic Gardens is located at 193 I.U. Willets Road in Albertson.
