Several other Town elevators also slated to be repaired

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board unanimously approved a contract with Excelsior Elevator Corp of Westbury during the Town Board meeting held on June 27 for the repairs of elevators at Michael J. Tully Park and several other Town locations. Tully Park currently has a series of stair lifts in place, to assist those with mobility issues to still be able to access the pool.

The bids for the elevator repair contract were opened the morning of the board meeting and the Town Board expeditiously approved the contract at that evening’s board meeting.

The contract work will begin first with the elevator at Tully Park. It will include the rebuilding of the elevator, the manufacture of custom-made parts and the installation of an operating system. The elevator at Town Hall and at another Town facility will both be repaired as well one the Tully elevator is completed.
