Supervisor Bosworth Appoints Dr. Isma Chaundhry to Ethics Board

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Isma Chaundhry to the Town of North Hempstead’s Board of Ethics Committee at the June 6 board meeting.

“I am honored to appoint Dr. Isma Chaudhry to our Board of Ethics Committee,” Supervisor Bosworth said. “Dr. Chaudhry is a physician by profession and the first woman president of the Islamic Center of Long Island. She is an interfaith activist and strongly believes in building bridges of Interfaith harmony, and dispelling myths and misconceptions about Islam and Muslims. I know she will be a valuable addition to our committee and I thank her for coming on board.”
Dr .Chaudhry is the sixth member of the board and the first person to be appointed to the board following Supervisor Bosworth’s series of reforms to the Town’s ethics code earlier this year. Dr. Chaundhry is a resident of Manhasset.
The board has many duties, including reviewing annual financial disclosure statements, issuing advisory opinions, and advising local agencies.
