North Hempstead, NY –On May 23 and 24, Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and members of the Town Board honored 29 seniors from across North Hempstead at the 45th Annual Senior Recognition Luncheon. The seniors were honored for outstanding service to their communities and for their work with various senior groups. Hundreds of the Town’s senior residents attended the event, which was held at Harbor Links Golf Course in Port Washington.

“We have so many wonderful seniors to recognize here in the Town of North Hempstead, that we needed to expand our Senior Recognition Event to two days,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “This speaks volumes about the vast number of remarkable seniors who dedicate so much of their time to serving others. Each and every one of our honorees serves as a role model for all of us.”

Supervisor Bosworth also referenced the Town’s Project Independence program as one way that the Town provides a much-needed service to its seniors and their families.

“Services like Project Independence enable our seniors to maintain the quality the life that they deserve so that they can remain in their homes and live life to its fullest,” she said.

Elected officials in attendance over the two-day event included Council Member Viviana Russell, Council Member Peter Zuckerman, Council Member Angelo Ferrara, Council Member Anna Kaplan, Council Member Lee Seeman, Council Member Dina De Giorgio, and Town Clerk Wayne Wink.
