Clark Botanic Garden to Host Rose Day

Learn about the Sustainable Rose Garden from the Master Gardeners at Clark Botanic Garden


North Hempstead, NY – Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth, the Town Board and the Department of Parks and Recreation are pleased to announce that they will be holding a Rose Day at Clark Botanic Garden on Saturday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will feature a tour of Clark Botanic Garden’s Sustainable Rose Garden and a demonstration of deadheading, removing the old heads of the roses to encourage new blooms. Attendees will receive a list of where the roses selected can be found in the garden as well as an informational lecture on why each type of rose was selected for the garden.

The event will feature talks by Mater Rosarian and Master Gardener Catherine Guzzardo as well as Town of North Hempstead Horticulturist Bonnie Klein.
