Clinton G. Martin Pool Goes to the Dogs!

Over 100 residents and their four-legged pooches attend Doggie Pool Party

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board opened Clinton G. Martin Park to dogs and their owners on September 6 as the Town hosted the second annual Doggie Pool Party. With the summer season winding down, and the pool closing for the season, the party gave dogs whose owners live in the New Hyde Park Special Park District an opportunity to swim in the Town’s pool before it is drained. The Town also issued on site dog licenses at the event through the office of Town Clerk Wayne Wink.

The event is part of the Town’s effort to be more dog friendly. The Town allows dogs on leashes at North Hempstead Beach Park, the Hempstead Harbor Trail, Mary Jane Davies Green and Michael J. Tully Park.

This summer the Town also unveiled a new PSA which expresses how serious the dangers of leaving a dog in a hot car are. The video reverses the roles of human and dog and has a person stay in a hot car, while the dog goes into a store.

Ferrara, Anna M. Kaplan, Lee R. Seeman and Dina M. De Giorgio. The Town Clerk is Wayne Wink and the Receiver of Taxes is Charles Berman.
