North Hempstead, NY – Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth is seeking nominations for several vacancies on the Town’s Historic Landmarks Preservation Commission (HLPC) which works in conjunction with the Town to preserve and protect the Town's historic sites. The seven-member Commission has the authority, amongst other things, to nominate sites and neighborhoods for landmark designation and to approve physical alterations to landmarked properties. Members of the Commission are appointed by the Town Board and serve a term of three years.

“The members of the Historic Landmark Commission serve such an important role here in our Town,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “Our history is a part of who we are today and it tells the story of how we got here. The members of this Commission are the guardians of this cherished past and the Town Board and I look to them for guidance and expertise.”

If you have an interest, competence or knowledge in preserving of historic preservation and would like to be considered for a seat on the Commission, please email your resume and cover letter to Commissioner of Finance/HR at careers@northhempsteadny.gov.
