Keeping it Green, North Hempstead Hosts  EcoFest ’09

Albertson, NY—Supervisor Jon Kaiman extends an invitation for residents to join him at the Town of North Hempstead’s public garden for the 4th Annual EcoFest.

The two-day event at Clark Botanic Garden in Albertson will take place Saturday and Sunday May 2nd and 3rd from 10:00 to 4:00 pm.

EcoFest, an event designed to give all ages an opportunity to celebrate the environment, will feature a host of fun activities and performances.

Guitarist Chris Marshak, accompanied by his brother Matt on drums, will present “Strumming and Drumming,” their unique brand of skits, stories and refreshingly catchy songs for kids.  Janice Buckner and Anna Kravis will also take the stage with their distinctive sounds and puppetry.

In addition to crafts and games, “America’s Best Known Forager” Wildman Steve Brill will conduct adventure tours, while Volunteers for Wildlife and Erik’s Reptile Edvantures will wow onlookers with their eye-opening wildlife showcase.

Clark Botanic Garden, North Hempstead’s 12-acre living museum, educational facility and bird sanctuary, is located at 193 I.U. Willets Road.
