North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, the Town Board, and the Department of Services for the Aging have announced they will be hosting two more Project SAFE seminars this June. These seminars are designed to educate seniors about the prevalence of scammers who try to part seniors and from their money. The seminars are scheduled for:

  • June 9: Westbury Memorial Public Library, 445 Jefferson Street, Westbury; 10 a.m. -11:30 a.m.
  • June 11: Shelter Rock Public Library, 165 Searingtown Road, Albertson; 1:30 p.m.- 3 p.m.
These seminars allow seniors to learn from a panel of experts how to protect themselves and how to manage and understand their finances as they age. Town of North Hempstead Receiver of Taxes Charles Berman will be a member of the panel and will share his vast experience on real property and tax matters, teach attendees how to spot misinformation, and to make sure seniors understand their rights and responsibilities.
