CDA Sign and Awning Grant
A grant program for businesses in Port Washington to assist in renovating their storefronts. To help achieve these goals CDA is offering a Sign and Awning Grant, up to a maximum of $2,500 per eligible business. The program is available to businesses located on Main Street between Port Washington Blvd and Mackey Ave.

Tree Removal Questions
In light of Hurricane Sandy, this office has received several inquiries regarding the removal of large trees on private property. Homeowners are required to obtain tree removal permits prior to removing a tree on their front lawn. This permit process is governed by Town Code § 20A-5.2. The Town Code can be accessed on www.northhempsteadny.gov by clicking on “Government” and then “Town Code”. Any questions regarding these procedures should be directed to the Building Department.
