Town Clerk's Office 200 Plandome Rd Manhasset, NY 11030 (516) 869-7646 The office of the Town Clerk is the hub around which Town business revolves. The Town Clerk, elected every four years, is the Records Management Officer of the Town. Custodian of all the records, the Clerk is responsible for active files, disposition of inactive records and protection of the archives. As Secretary to the Town Board, the Clerk is responsible for preparing and maintaining the minutes of Town Board meetings. Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests are administered by this office.
The Town Clerk issues State licenses such as marriage, hunting and fishing, going out of business sale, games of chance, dog, bingo and raffles. The Clerk issues Town licenses including taxi, towing, peddlers and solid waste collection.
The Town Clerk is a designated Marriage Officer, and as Registrar of Vital Statistics, issues and maintains all birth and death certificates and records in the Town.
Town Clerk Leslie Gross Announces Extended Hours in the Registrar's Office on the first and third Wednesdays of the month only.
The Town of North Hempstead Registrar's Office has extended hours on Wednesday evenings beginning July 11, 2007 to present.* Wednesday Evening Hours are 4:45 PM to 7:00 PM. Marriage license appointments are required, please call 516-869-7650.
Transactions will not be accepted after 6:45 PM.
Copies of Birth, Death and Marriage records will be available. Note: Some records can be ordered but may not be available for same- evening pick up.
* The Clerk's office reserves the right to extend or cancel the program at their discretion.
