WHAT TO DO WITH A NORTH HEMPSTEAD PARKING TICKET
No Town official has the authority to void or nullify a parking ticket once a Town Parking Enforcement Agent has issued it. Accordingly, a recipient of a North Hempstead parking ticket should not call or write to any Town official in an effort have the ticket voided or nullified, even if they believe the ticket is unjustified.
A recipient of a Town parking ticket may plead guilty or not guilty to the charges alleged. If you wish to plead guilty, you may do so by signing your name and address in the space provided on the rear side of the ticket and paying the required fine by check or money order payable to the order of the Clerk of the Court. The ticket, signed and dated, and your payment may be delivered personally on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., or mailed to:
Nassau County Traffic and Parking Violations Agency 16 Cooper Street West Hempstead, New York 11550
If you wish to plead not guilty, you may do so by appearing personally or by mailing the ticket and a statement signed by you stating your desire to plead not guilty to the Nassau County Traffic and Parking Violations Agency at the address set forth above. The mailing must done by first class mail or by registered or certified mail, return receipt requested, within 48 hours after your receipt of the parking ticket. If you plead not guilty, you will be required to appear personally at the offices of the Agency for a trial on a date set by the agency.
