NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public meeting will be held by the Town Board of the Town of North Hempstead (the “Town”) on the13th day of February, 2007 at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Boardroom at Town Hall, 220 Plandome Road, Manhasset, New York.
The purpose of the public meeting will be to inform and seek comment from the public on a proposal to utilize $941,200 in grant funds (“FTA Project Funds”) from the Federal Transit Administration (the “FTA”), and consisting of (A) $347,200 in FTA Fiscal Year (“FY”) 2005 Section 5309 Bus and Bus-Related Allocations Earmark funds made available under the TEA-21 Authorization, and (B) $594,000 in FTA FY 2006 Section 5309 Bus and Bus Facility Allocations, made available under the SAFETEA-LU Authorization.
Under the proposal, the FTA Project Funds would be used to purchase environmentally friendly alternative fueled transit buses.
