Mission Statement:
We are the “Helping Hands” of the Town of North Hempstead. Our mission is to create and maintain programs to improve the self sufficiency, independence and personal dignity of our most vulnerable residents. We believe that this helps all residents attain their potential for success and improves the quality of life for everyone living in our Town. We are especially concerned with our seniors, youth, children and others who are more likely to be living at or below the poverty level and are more likely to be at risk. We will also reach out to our growing minority and immigrant populations in order to create better understanding and respect for each others culture and religion. We aim to provide the residents of North Hempstead with: High quality service sustained by personal commitment and accountability. Teamwork that encourages the creation of new ideas and programs. Commitment to time saving, money saving and efficient use of staff and volunteers. Timely, considerate, respectful, polite and helpful responses to all questions and inquiries. Honesty and integrity in all dealings. The solicitation of suggestions for improvement from constituents and staffmembers.
