FAMILY-TYPE HOMES for ADULTS
This service is provided for adults who for health or social reasons, can no longer live alone or with their families, but do not require placement in an institution. To help these adults remain in the community, Family Type Homes for Adults recruits and studies family type living arrangements for them. The needs of the applicant are explored, and after applicants move into a home, their placement is supervised by the Department of Social Services to insure proper care. COUNSELING for HOME EQUITY CONVERSION (CHEC )
This program helps persons ages 62 and over by advising them on ways to unlock the equity in there homes and convert it into available cash. Reverse mortgages and/or HUD insured reverse mortgages maybe an appropriate choice. The CHEC staff is certified HUD reverse mortgage counselors. Counseling is free. Each applicant's present and future financial situation, housing needs and living expenses are examined. Comprehensive plans are then presented for discussion. Once a plan is chosen, the CHEC staff is available to assist the senior through the loan process until the loan is secured.

Link-Age-In-Home Services Program
This program provides case management, non-medical in-home services, homemaker/personal care, housekeeper/chore and ancillary services to seniors 60 years of age and over who are above Medicaid eligibility and who are unable to function independently in the home. Eligibility for the LINK-AGE Program are determined by case managers during an assessment process which includes a financial assessment to determine the senior's share of the cost of services.
