Dear Port Washington Community Members:
On behalf of the Steering Committee for the Shared Vision: Port Washington Peninsula, I would like to thank you for your support for the Shared Vision process that brought the community together to craft a vision for the future of the Port Washington Peninsula.
From January through April, hundreds of those who live and work on the Port Washington Peninsula sat at tables with their neighbors to brainstorm ways to improve the quality of life on the Peninsula. It was very exciting to listen to community members offer positive feedback and proactive solutions.
Community members opened their minds and really listened to their neighbors to help create a realistic and optimistic vision plan. Recommendations will improve the quality of life and encourage economic development. The Shared Vision Plan was unveiled at a community meeting on June 29, 2005. If you were unable to attend, a copy of the presentation is available on the website. The next important step in the Shared Vision process is making the vision a reality. Please check the Shared Vision website for updates was we implement the community’s vision.
Please accept my sincerest thanks on behalf of The Town of North Hempstead; the villages of Baxter Estates, Flower Hill, Manorhaven, Plandome Manor, Port Washington North and Sands Point; Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi; Nassau County Legislator Craig Johnson; NYS Senator Michael Balboni; NYS Assemblyman Thomas DiNapoli; General Council of Homeowners Associations of Port Washington; Port Washington Business Improvement District; and the Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington.
Again, thank you for your participation in this historic community event.
Sincerely,
Jon Kaiman
Supervisor
