Port Washington LIRR Station updates
The LIRR provided the following update on its substation replacement project:
Good Afternoon:
My name is Denise Gray and I am working with Hector Garcia in the
Government Affairs office.
I am contacting you to update you on the ongoing reconstruction of the
LIRR substation in Port Washington. The old substation has been
demolished and the new one will be rebuilt at the same location.
Construction of a new foundation on the existing site, located adjacent
to the railroad tracks by South Bayles Avenue and Davis Avenue in Port
Washington, will begin on Monday, May 22, 2017. Work is scheduled
to take place from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and will
include excavation and concrete work on LIRR property.
It will take approximately six months to finish this phase of the
work. On completion we will reach out to you again to coordinate the
process for the delivery of the new substation.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Denise Gray
